About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team at BHP Group. As a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, including diesel engines, transmissions, and other related systems.

Your primary duties will include:

  • Performing routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment
  • Conducting diagnostic tests to identify and repair faults
  • Collaborating with other team members to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations
  • Providing input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and assisting in the implementation of new initiatives

We are looking for a candidate who possesses:

  • Australian Recognised Heavy Mechanical Qualifications
  • Technically/mechanically sound skills with Liebherr, CAT, Cummins, and/or Epiroc
  • Demonstrated diagnostics and breakdown experience with ideally both trucks and ancillary equipment
  • Dogging, Rigging, and Forklift Licenses are desirable
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and attention to detail and procedure
  • Computer literacy and/or experience in 1SAP
  • Safety first mentality
