Role Overview:

Medical Orderly Services Coordinator

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Medical Orderly to join our team in providing high-quality patient care and support. As a key member of our clinical team, you will work collaboratively with medical, nursing, and para-medical staff to ensure the safe and efficient transfer of patients within the hospital environment.

The successful applicant will have demonstrated expertise in manual handling techniques, emergency procedures, and infection control protocols. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide medical orderly services and assistance to medical, nursing, and para-medical staff in various operational areas within the hospital.
  • Transport patients safely and efficiently using wheelchairs, trolleys, and beds.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies within the hospital, including aggressive incidents and Code Black Response Team activations.
  • Conduct internal hospital security functions as directed.

Selection Criteria:

  • Knowledge and experience in manual handling techniques, following Work Health and Safety principles.
  • Proven ability to manage emergencies and respond effectively to aggressive incidents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and function as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Well-developed problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make sound judgments in high-pressure situations.

Working Conditions:

  • Multiple permanent full-time and part-time positions available, working up to 76 hours per fortnight.
  • Shift work and flexibility required to meet the needs of the service.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range: $67,193 - $72,126 per annum pro-rata.
