Direct Strategic Influence

We seek a seasoned leader to drive organisational vision and direction as Director – People & Culture.

About the Role

  • Strategically shape culture, governance, and leadership in a purpose-driven organisation
  • Influence CEO performance and organisational strategy
  • Champion people, values, and governance with real community impact

Key Responsibilities

  • Effective governance of Churches of Christ in Queensland;
  • Involvement in formulating strategic directions and approving plans;
  • Recruitment and managing performance of the CEO;
  • Reviewing and monitoring business planning and annual budgets;
  • Contributing to Board and organisational policy development;
  • Supporting stakeholder engagement and networking on behalf of Churches of Christ in QLD;
  • Identifying required skills for the Board and potential candidates for Board positions.

Requirements

  • The role requires attending approximately 11 Board meetings and other special meetings as needed
  • All Directors are expected to prepare thoroughly for Board and Committee meetings;
  • Participation in relevant learning and development is mandatory;
  • Some travel may be involved;
  • The role may require regular conference calls for management, financial reporting, and compliance issues;
  • 2-3 residential Board site visits and strategy meetings annually.

What We Offer

  • Remuneration to attract and retain directors with suitable qualifications
  • The base fee includes involvement in a minimum of one committee;
  • Remuneration details will be discussed with successful applicants upon appointment.
