Aged Care Support Professional

Job Description

This is a casual role that requires flexibility to work regular weekend shifts, including overnight stays.

The Aged Care Support Professional will provide social companionship and emotional support to an individual living on a rural station.

Responsibilities include assisting with transport, delivering personal care, supporting with grocery shopping, undertaking light domestic duties, preparing meals, and communicating effectively with clients and healthcare professionals.

Key Behavioural Indicators include empathy, compassion, integrity, adaptability, reliability, communication skills, initiative, attention to detail, and cultural awareness.

  • Must have Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual Support.
  • Current First Aid Certificate is required.
  • Working with Children Check and National Police Check clearance are also necessary.

The ideal candidate has aged care experience, particularly in residential, home, or community settings. Experience with dementia clients and understanding of rural or remote care environments is also beneficial.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual Support.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • National Police Check clearance.

Aged care workers are expected to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.

They must be able to communicate effectively with clients and families while maintaining a professional demeanor.

Employers may request proof of qualifications and certifications upon hiring.
