Energy Management Director

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Director, Energy Management to join our team at Optus. As a key member of our infrastructure services team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of our energy management system, driving energy efficiency across our portfolio and assets, and developing and implementing our energy management policy.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategic approaches to energy efficiency that enhance our return on investment and reduce ongoing costs.
- Collaborate with the sustainability team to develop renewables strategies and reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions.
- Develop water consumption reduction strategies and implement a comprehensive data management strategy around energy, water, refrigerant, gas, and diesel.
- Manage outsourced utility management partners and be responsible for all energy cost modelling and forecasting.
- Identify and track energy saving opportunities and report against these targets.
- Reduce business risks associated with rising energy prices and inefficient energy use.
- A degree in engineering or a related field.
- Certified Energy Manager.
- Strong working knowledge of the energy sector in Australia and understanding of how the sector needs to transition.
- Good technical understanding of a range of equipment and processes used in the electricity generation sector and key issues affecting each technology.
- Relevant experience in energy management, energy efficiency, or related fields.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication, relationship management, and leadership skills.
