Biobank Leadership Opportunity

This role offers a chance to provide scientific leadership and oversight of a national biobank resource, supporting cutting-edge translational research to improve outcomes for children and young people with cancer.

The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of biobank management, including ethics and governance compliance, quality assurance, funding sustainability, and external collaborations.

  • Provide strategic direction and scientific leadership for the biobank.
  • Lead and mentor staff, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Ensure biobank operations comply with relevant standards and guidelines.
  • Maintain ethics and governance approvals, ensuring timely annual reporting.
  • Prepare and submit reports for funding bodies, and identify new funding opportunities.
  • Oversee accurate documentation of expenses and financial accountability.
  • Drive strategies to increase national and international utilisation of biobank resources.
  • Facilitate research contracts and agreements with external partners.
