Therapy Assistant Role Overview

We are seeking dedicated professionals to fill the role of Therapy Assistant. This position will involve working under the guidance of experienced therapists to deliver high-quality care and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement exercise programs for residents in collaboration with physiotherapists.
  • Organize and lead recreational activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of residents.
  • Participate in the planning and organization of therapy sessions.
  • Deliver a range of therapy-based programs as directed by supervisors.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation according to established guidelines.
  • Accompany resident groups on outings, promoting social interaction and community engagement.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance or higher/equivalent qualification.
  • Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent/higher (desirable but not essential).
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably as an Occupational Therapist Assistant or Physiotherapist Assistant.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, ensuring seamless delivery of services.
  • Strong customer service skills, with a focus on empathy and understanding.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coach staff to deliver high-quality lifestyle and therapy activities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, facilitating clear communication with colleagues and residents.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills, enabling proactive issue resolution.
  • Able to empathize with elderly residents, providing compassionate care and support.
  • Australian working rights and ability to pass a national police clearance.
