English Language Development Teacher Position

We are seeking a Temporary Part-Time English Language Development Teacher to join our community for Terms 1-2, with the possibility to extend.

Job Opportunity

The EALD Teacher will work within our teaching teams to assist classroom teachers and curriculum leaders in developing effective responses to support the curriculum learning needs of EAL/D students. The successful candidate will gather, analyse, and use the EAL/D Learning Progression and ESL Scales to inform their practice, plan, create, and deliver English language learning activities.

The EALD Teacher will mentor, monitor, and actively engage in the English language development, academic performance, and wellbeing of each EAL/D student. They will create a positive and engaging learning environment, personalise learning for students according to their language needs and abilities, and develop effective EAL/D assessment practices and quality teaching programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work within our teaching teams to develop effective responses to support EAL/D students
  • Gather, analyse, and use the EAL/D Learning Progression and ESL Scales to inform practice
  • Mentor, monitor, and engage in the English language development of EAL/D students
  • Create a positive and engaging learning environment
