Dairy Farm Worker Job Description

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing and maintaining dairy farm operations, including milk production, cow nutrition, breeding, treatment, and plant maintenance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and improving protocols and procedures for milk harvesting and upgrade procedures as necessary.
  • Milking cows and following established procedures, adhering to animal welfare codes.
  • Managing breeding selection of the dairy herd for optimum production via artificial insemination and use of Cow-Manager program.
  • Liaising with a veterinarian to utilize required drugs for health and breeding programs for dairy calves, dry cows, maternity, and milking herd.
  • Operating dairy software that records daily cow activity and data.
  • Training and supervising new staff in dairy milking procedures.

Requirements include:

  • A minimum of 3 years of full-time experience in dairy farming duties.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Benefits include:
