
Linux Software Development Lead

In this fast-paced role, you will be responsible for leading a team of software engineers in delivering high-quality products on the Linux platform.
- As a Software Engineering Manager, you will oversee the recruitment, motivation, and mentorship of your team members to ensure their success in achieving project goals.
- You will set clear goals and objectives with the team, prioritize tasks, and identify key performance indicators to measure team health.
- Your primary focus will be on maximizing the results of your team members and supporting their career growth through coaching, mentoring, and feedback.
- You will collaborate closely with project managers, hardware enablement teams, quality assurance teams, and certification management teams to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
- Additionally, you will monitor projects from kickoff to post-mortem, handle escalations, and communicate technical challenges with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), original design manufacturers (ODMs), system-in-package (SiPs), and independent hardware vendors (IHVs).
- You will also prioritize customer requests globally and collaborate with product engineering teams, including desktop, foundations, kernel, and security teams.
- As a leader, you will provide guidance on methodologies, strategies, standards, tools, and best practices to drive excellence in software development and delivery.
- A bachelor's degree in a STEM field, preferably computer science or software engineering.
- A proven track record in technical roles with Linux, ideally Ubuntu or Debian.
- A commitment to development and testing methodologies, as well as maintainable code quality.
- Experience in management responsibilities, including team leadership, resource allocation, and conflict resolution.
- An ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, fostering open communication and collaboration.
- The capacity to work productively in a globally distributed team through self-discipline and self-motivation.
- A commitment to delivering results on schedule and exceeding expectations.
- Strong English language skills, both written and verbal, as well as proficiency in Chinese.
