Job Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Learning Specialist to lead excellence in teaching and learning. As a highly skilled classroom practitioner, you will spend most of your time delivering high-quality instruction and have responsibilities related to your expertise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach demonstration lessons to showcase best practices in teaching and learning.
  • Observe and provide constructive feedback to other teachers to enhance their instructional skills.
  • Facilitate school-based professional learning opportunities to support teacher growth and development.

The Learning Specialist role is pivotal in building excellence in teaching and learning within the Teaching Service. Key responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrating high-level expertise in teaching and learning practice through ongoing professional development.
  • Modeling exemplary classroom practice through teaching demonstration lessons.
  • Working with the school leadership team to develop a shared view of highly effective teacher practice.
  • Leading and modeling the implementation of whole-school improvement strategies related to curriculum planning and delivery.
  • Providing evidence-based feedback to teaching staff to inform their effectiveness and development.
  • Supervising and training student teachers and mentoring/coaching teachers to improve their skill, knowledge, and effectiveness.
  • Developing and promoting school-wide professional learning structures, processes, and protocols to support teacher growth and development.
Requirements:
  • Deep understanding of high-quality teaching and learning practices.
  • Expertise in facilitating school-based professional learning.
  • Ability to model excellence in teaching and learning through demonstration lessons and mentor/coach teachers to improve their skill, knowledge, and effectiveness.

This role requires a passion for teaching and learning, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be able to work collaboratively with teachers and school leaders to drive educational excellence.
