Gas Infrastructure Maintenance Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Gas Infrastructure Maintenance Specialist. This is an entry-level position that offers advancement opportunities for successful candidates who perform well.

The selected candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance and construction work on gas lines and underground electric infrastructure. This includes excavating in a safe manner, loading and unloading equipment, maintaining tools and equipment, and working in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and construction work on gas lines and underground electric infrastructure
  • Excavate in a safe manner using hand tools or mechanical equipment
  • Load and unload equipment, material, and job site debris
  • Maintain tools and equipment
  • Work in a team environment with crew members and supervisors

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Valid Class C California Driver's License required by Day 1 of hire
  • Ability to pass a medical assessment to wear respirator protection as needed
  • Ability to travel and transfer to new locations as required

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in construction, pipeline coating, or a related field
  • Knowledge of pipeline safety procedures and protocols
  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 90 pounds
  • Ability to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Working Conditions:

  • Work is predominantly outdoors in all weather conditions
  • May require working at heights or in confined spaces
  • Ability to drive safely in all weather and road conditions

This is a DOT-covered classification and requires random drug and/or alcohol screening.

Please note that this position is subject to collective bargaining and may involve working in various locations throughout the service territory with no guarantees on how long you will be assigned away from your base headquarters.
