Water Planning Lead

The Director, Water Planning plays a pivotal role in overseeing all water planning activities for water plans within the North Region. This key position involves leading and managing a multidisciplinary team to develop, analyze, and implement regulatory, legislative, and policy frameworks related to water management.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a team of staff to deliver water planning and implementation of science functions/First Nations engagement within the North Region.
- Contribute to the development and review of water plans and Ministerial Reports for water plans in the North Region.
- Undertake technical assessments (environmental, economic, social, hydrologic, and cultural data) and extensive stakeholder engagement to understand and plan for further water needs.
- Engage with relevant authorities on accredited water resource plans and other matters.
- Represent the organization at key state and national water initiatives and forums.
- Deliver science-related programs to support water planning and intergovernmental agreements.
- Lead engagement with First Nations people to understand and deliver indigenous water reserves.
