About the Role
The role of Education Specialist: Academic Innovation is a key position within our educational community. The successful candidate will contribute to building a culture of expert teaching where teachers:
- Challenge all students to achieve their personal best.

- Have high levels of knowledge and understanding of their method areas.
- Guide student learning to desirable surface and deep outcomes.
- Successfully monitor learning and provide feedback to assist progress.
- Attend to attitudinal attributes of learning (especially developing self-efficacy and mastery motivation).
- Provide defensible evidence of positive impacts on student learning.
The Education Specialist: Academic Innovation will support subject teachers, fostering excellence in teaching, professionalism of practice and collegiality within the Learning Area.
Key Responsibilities
Our ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing innovative academic programs that meet the diverse needs of students.
- Fostering a culture of collaboration and professional development among teachers.
- Providing coaching and mentoring to enhance teacher practice and student outcomes.
- Leading and participating in staff meetings, working groups, and other teams as required.
- Engaging with parents and guardians to promote education and well-being.
