Commercial General Counsel Opportunity

Our institution is seeking a seasoned Senior Legal Counsel to join our General Commercial Role. This senior-level position involves working on a mix of legal advisory work, policy development, and Freedom of Information (FOI) matters.
The role requires supporting teams with decisions, providing practical advice, and mitigating risk. You will be responsible for providing legal services to optimise contractual and commercial arrangements, undertaking legal research and developing and maintaining legal precedents and template documents.
A broad commercial role requires supporting the whole organisation across a diverse range of legal matters, including intellectual property, copyright, privacy, employment, property, commercial law, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance and others.
\\Required Skills and Qualifications:\- \
- You should have a current Australian Practising Certificate and at least 10 years post-qualification experience, including experience gained in a reputable firm and/or in-house legal team.\
- You should be able to influence, manage, and successfully collaborate and communicate with multiple stakeholders across all levels of a diverse business.\
- You should be able to manage and prioritise your workload, understand and balance risk, and provide clear, simple, and to-the-point advice to others in the business.\
