About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Flood Modeller to lead our project team in delivering high-quality flood risk assessments and management plans for our clients in the private sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the production of 3D models using Civil 3D modelling software
  • Convert 3D drawings into detailed designs
  • Coordinate the production of detailed drawings and specification output, applying expert technical knowledge in line with relevant legislation and industry standards
  • Collaborate with other design disciplines on design models, calculations, and sketches
  • Oversee drawing production and verify work quality from colleagues
  • Review consultants' and contractors' design proposals
  • Manage document uploads and downloads within our document management systems
  • Adhere to BIM protocols and office drawing standards
  • Attend project and technical meetings
  • Attend site inspections and produce surveys when required
Requirements
  • 1D and 2D hydraulic modelling, particularly Flood Modeller and Tuflow
  • Hydrology, including the Flood Estimation Handbook and ReFH2 and WINFAP
  • Leading bids in the private and public sectors
  • Recognising and communicating flooding and drainage-related constraints and opportunities at development sites
  • Producing and reviewing flood risk assessments and drainage strategies using Micro Drainage/Info Drainage
  • Good knowledge of the planning system, including policy and guidance
  • Good knowledge of the water industry in both the public and private sectors
  • River engineering and restoration experience would be beneficial
  • Good financial control, project management, and communication skills in a client-facing role
  • Experience mentoring junior staff
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports
