Medical Equipment Coordinator Job Description

The position of Medical Equipment Coordinator is a crucial role in the organization, requiring an individual to oversee the planning and deployment of medical equipment for volunteer surgical teams.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordination of medical equipment supply and management.
  • Liaising with volunteer surgical teams and in-country medical teams to ensure correct supply of medical equipment.
  • Managing technical support discussions and troubleshooting equipment issues.
  • Coordinating export/import customs requirements and documentation.
  • Collaboration with specialty coordinators and national clinicians to ensure equipment meets international standards.
  • Providing end-to-end support for volunteer surgical teams.
  • Drugs and Poisons Compliance Management.
  • Maintenance of drug handling, documentation, and storage protocols.
  • Procurement of drugs required for surgical deployments overseas.
  • Finance and Assets Management.
  • Purchase order management, invoicing, and remittances.
  • Maintenance of RACS Global Health medical equipment asset register.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Essential Qualifications:
  • A registered nurse with a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification.
  • Essential Experience:
  • Experience in perioperative nursing.
  • Desirable Qualifications:
  • Post-Graduate studies in perioperative nursing.
  • Desirable Experience:
  • Overseas clinical volunteering experience.
