Senior Software Engineer Nodejs

Are you a talented and highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Nodejs, AWS cloud technologies, and containerized microservices? We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as a Cloud Architect with Nodejs expertise.

Milestone IT is partnering with a large company to find a senior fullstack developer in the Nodejs and React space to act as a 2IC for the dev manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and fault-tolerant applications using Nodejs and AWS cloud services.
  • Mentor and coach junior developers and take on leadership where required.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements, and turn them into technical solutions.
  • Build containerized microservices using Docker and manage them on AWS Elastic Container Service (ECS).
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to automate the build, test, and deployment processes.
  • Set up and maintain the alerting and monitoring stack on Sumo Logic/Dynatrace to ensure real-time visibility into the application's health and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, both independently and in a team setting.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Proven hands-on experience as a Senior Software Engineer, with a strong background in Nodejs and AWS development.
  • Extensive experience designing and implementing cloud-based solutions using AWS services (e.g., EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, etc.).
  • Solid knowledge of containerization with Docker and hands-on experience with managing containerized services on ECS.
  • Proficiency in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools such as Sumo Logic or Dynatrace to ensure high application availability and performance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to analyze and optimize code for performance and efficiency.
  • Experience working on large-scale, distributed systems and understanding of microservices architecture.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Continuous learner with a proactive approach to staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends.
