Milestone IT is partnering with a large company to find a senior full stack developer in the Nodejs and React space to act as a 2IC for the dev manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Node.js and React.js applications, ensuring high performance, responsiveness, and scalability.
- Mentor and coach junior developers and take on leadership where required.
- Utilize AWS cloud services to architect, deploy, and manage scalable and fault-tolerant applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements, and turn them into technical solutions.
- Build containerized microservices using Docker and manage them on AWS Elastic Container Service (ECS).
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to automate the build, test, and deployment processes.
- Set up and maintain the alerting and monitoring stack on Sumo Logic/Dynatrace to ensure real-time visibility into the application's health and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, both independently and in a team setting.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Proven hands-on experience as a Senior Software Engineer, with a strong background in Node.js and React.js development.
- Extensive experience designing and implementing cloud-based solutions using AWS services (e.g., EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, etc.).
- Solid knowledge of containerization with Docker and hands-on experience with managing containerized services on ECS.
- Proficiency in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools.
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools such as Sumo Logic or Dynatrace to ensure high application availability and performance.
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to analyze and optimize code for performance and efficiency.
- Experience working on large-scale, distributed systems and understanding of microservices architecture.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Continuous learner with a proactive approach to staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends.
