About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team at JD Sports Australia. As a key member of our retail operations team, you will play a critical role in driving sales growth, delivering exceptional customer service, and maintaining a visually appealing store environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Commercial and Business Development
    - Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth and achieve financial targets
    - Collaborate with the Store Manager to create and review store-based rosters
    - Conduct daily walkthroughs to ensure visual priorities are presented to the JD standard and attract, engage, and motivate customers to purchase
    - Manage conversion, average transaction value (ATV), and units per transaction (UPT) to deliver growth to budget
  2. Resilience, Adaptability, and Pace
    - Demonstrate exceptional customer service standards and effectively floor manage the team across all areas to deliver a 'service over task' environment
    - Adapt to continuously changing processes and procedures due to JD Sports' rapid growth
    - Manage multiple key priorities in the store, including people management, sales targets, campaign launches, visual merchandising, stock management, profit and loss (P&L), and in-store marketing
    - Delegate tasks to other managers within the store and ensure the store setup remains synonymous with company directives
  3. Dynamic People Management
    - Set clear expectations daily and weekly to motivate and inspire the team
    - Train the team on internal and external loss prevention procedures and lead by example to ensure these processes are adhered to
    - Deliver regular updates to the Store Manager regarding operations and people performance, highlighting key improvements and achievements
    - Inspire, train, and support the team to drive a world-class experience for JD customers
