The Environmental Scientist Role Overview

The Environmental Scientist is a key role in our team, responsible for providing professional support to senior scientists and contributing to the delivery of project outputs.

  1. Assist senior scientists in meeting project milestones and contract deliverables, ensuring timely and high-quality results.
  2. Undertake paddock-scale monitoring activities, including instrumentation operation and maintenance, field and laboratory procedures, and data analysis.
  3. Process, manage, and assess scientific data, maintaining databases for data collection and storage.
  4. Communicate results within a quality assurance framework, ensuring effective reporting and liaison with stakeholders.

We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Environmental Scientist to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Position Requirements

This position requires:

  1. Strong knowledge of quality assurance and quality control systems and procedures, with the ability to report on results of water quality and monitoring program data.
  2. Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to make recommendations based on evidence.
  3. Experience in identifying problems and possible solutions, including technology, research, and comprehension of relevant technical information and data.
  4. Ability to plan and prioritise multiple tasks to ensure delivery of project outputs in a timely manner.
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  6. Contribution to workplace equity and diversity, enriching our culture of safety, innovation, respect, and inclusion.
