Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Academic Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to join our team at the University of Newcastle.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and sustainability of research and medical education programs in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. As a key member of our academic team, you will work collaboratively with the local health district to achieve our goals and foster a strong partnership with Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD).

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and assess undergraduate and postgraduate students in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
  • Participate in program leadership roles at disciplinary, school, and college levels
  • Undertake innovative programs in research and medical education
  • Contribute to professional activities, policy development, and community engagement activities
Requirements
  • Hold (or be eligible for) a Fellowship with the Royal Australasian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (RANZCOG) or equivalent
  • Hold current registration or be eligible to hold Specialist Obstetrician/Gynaecologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with no restrictions, notations, or conditions
  • Have completed a doctoral (PhD) or masters qualification or significant substantial progress towards completion of or equivalent accreditation in relevant research fields
  • Have a passion for excellence in teaching and assessment of communication skills
  • Be passionate about mentoring and providing academic support to less experienced staff
  • Have strong communication, management, and organisational skills
  • Possess the ability to skillfully work with medical practitioners across a broad range of disciplines
