Strategic Leadership Opportunity

The Department of Education seeks an experienced leader to drive the development and implementation of policies and programs focused on First Nations strategy.

This role will lead an ambitious policy and investment agenda, collaborating closely with the Executive Board to implement the Marrung Aboriginal Education Plan and respond to the Yoorrook Justice Commission.

Key responsibilities include developing education policy, designing service programs, and creating culturally safe and inclusive early childhood services, schools, and workplaces.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social policy reform, experience working with Victorian First Peoples communities, and the ability to liaise, negotiate, and influence at high levels of government.

They will represent the department in various forums, including local First Peoples community, state, and national gatherings.

A seasoned leader with a proven track record of success in complex public sector contexts is required.
