About the Role

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field are essential.
  • Proven experience in media environments and public relations is necessary for success.
  • Strong writing and research skills are required for creating effective communications strategies.
  • Experience in generating media opportunities and pitching news content is highly valued.
  • Ability to manage sensitive media issues and provide strategic advice is critical.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of news values and time management skills. Experience in local government and photography/videography skills are desirable but not essential.
