Our trainees work closely with skilled professionals, receiving top-notch training and becoming valued members of the dental team. No experience is necessary, as we provide comprehensive on-the-job training to ensure you gain the skills and knowledge required.

A typical day as a Dental Assistant involves working closely with patients and colleagues to provide a positive experience. You will study dentistry techniques and perform general office duties, including patient care and laboratory tasks.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Greeting patients and preparing them for treatment
  • Mixing materials for fillings, sterilising and preparing instruments
  • Arranging and handing instruments, medication and dental materials to practitioners
  • Preparing dental materials and developing x-rays
  • Using suction devices and water sprays
  • Performing routine maintenance on equipment
  • Advising patients on dental health education and post-operative care
  • Acting as receptionist for dental practitioners, performing billing and other clerical tasks
  • Maintaining high standards of infection control
  • Other tasks requested by the host employer
