About the Opportunity

John Paul College is seeking an experienced Gardener/Grounds Officer to join our Property Services team on a permanent full-time basis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the College's gardens and grounds, ensuring they are well-maintained and visually appealing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance of gardens and grounds, including mowing, weeding, fertilizing, and day-time cleaning and rubbish removal.
  • Maintenance of planted and garden areas, including hedging, pruning, removal, and disposal of unwanted growth.
  • Supporting in landscaping projects as required.
  • Opening and securing of gates and premises across campus.
  • Supporting students, staff, visitors, and contractors during events, including responding to general enquiries.
  • Operation of equipment, including checking and maintaining equipment prior to and after use, reporting any known concerns.
  • Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety requirements, including safe work practices and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Certificate III in Horticulture or similar.
  • Positive Paid Blue Card / Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain this by your start date).
  • Drivers License (Open License).
  • Current First Aid and CPR (or ability to obtain).
