Our organization relies heavily on data to drive decision-making and operations.

We collect a vast amount of data from various sources, which is then converted into essential services that cater to weather, climate, water, and ocean needs.

To ensure the highest level of data quality, we're looking for a Chief Statistician in the Science and Innovation Group (SIG).

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, applying, communicating, and advising on cutting-edge statistical methods to enhance our product offerings across multiple time scales.

This role will report directly to the General Manager of the Research Program and provide strategic advice to the SIG leadership and other members of the Bureau Senior Leadership Team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing state-of-the-art statistical methodologies
  • Providing expert advice on statistical analysis and modeling
  • Communicating complex statistical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Requirements for this position include:

  • Advanced degree in statistics, mathematics, or a related field
  • Proven expertise in statistical analysis and modeling
