About the Role

As a Heavy Haulage Equipment Operator with our Production Mining Team at Thiess, you will thrive in a dynamic environment that offers a range of challenges and opportunities for growth.

  • A 2:1 roster provides an excellent work-life balance, with seven days on, followed by seven days off, and then two rest days.
  • FIFO (Fly-In, Fly-Out) accommodation is provided from Perth to the Iron Bridge Mine.
  • Applicants outside WA can take advantage of salary sacrifice options.
  • Residents of Port Hedland can enjoy BIBO (Bring-It-Back-Onsite) facilities.
  • This permanent full-time role offers development and upskilling opportunities, allowing you to enhance your skills and career prospects.

In this role, you will:

  • Operate heavy haulage equipment efficiently, safely, and competently to maximize output.
  • Comply with Thiess's policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Respond promptly to instructions from the Mining Supervisor to ensure seamless operations.
  • Position equipment effectively for efficient loading and unloading.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and organized workspace.
  • Conduct pre-start checks to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of three years' experience as a production dump truck operator in mining.
  • Equivalent or specific experience operating Caterpillar 785 dump trucks is essential.
  • Experience in hard rock mining operations is desirable.
  • A valid Australian driver's license is mandatory.
