The Role: Data Engineer/Architect

You will work on client projects that solve complex business and social issues across various industries. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop data-driven solutions that provide tangible and measurable value to our clients.

This role requires you to possess strong technical ability, as well as a deep understanding of the business context and the needs of our clients.

In addition to designing and developing data models, you will also be responsible for establishing cloud infrastructure solutions, integrating data from multiple sources, and developing data pipelines for production environments.

We are seeking an individual who is genuinely curious and enjoys working through complex business and data issues. Ideally, you should have a strong work ethic and be able to work both within a team environment and independently.

Your skills and experience may include:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or suitable work experience in lieu of qualifications
  • Experience in data engineering and architecture, with versatility across roles highly favored (position and remuneration dependent on experience)
  • Exceptional data modeling capability, including conceptual, logical, and physical modeling
  • Strong Python or SQL skills
  • Experience in delivering secure, scalable cloud data platforms ranging in complexity (e.g., Fabric, Snowflake, Databricks, etc.)
  • Experience with modern data orchestration and transformation tools (e.g., Data Factory, DBT, Airflow, etc.)
  • Proven ability to take disparate data sources of varying quality and integrate them to deliver value as part of productionized data pipelines
  • Experience in identifying and developing current, transitional, and future-state data architectures
  • An understanding of data security, observability, and networking principles and implementation methods
  • Experience working in a consulting environment is desirable

Estimated Salary: AU$120,000 - AU$180,000 per annum
