We are seeking a proactive and motivated projects lawyer to support a dynamic and growing legal team. This role offers the opportunity to work across a range of transactional and regulated legal matters in a company driving Australia's transition to net zero.
This role will give you the chance to engage in impactful work with constant opportunities for professional growth. You will become part of a high-performing, supportive and innovative team and be able to contribute to an exciting, fast-paced industry.
- Lead and support the negotiation, drafting and review of commercial contracts such as EPC contracts, supply and install contracts, balance of plant contracts, PPAs/offtake agreements, connection agreements, and O&M agreements.
- Advise on land acquisitions, planning approvals, and general commercial matters including NDAs, consultancy agreements, services agreements, and disputes.
- Provide support and manage external counsel.
- Advise on regulatory matters such as FIRB, Australian Financial Services Licences and Critical Infrastructure.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives, including the development of precedent contracts, adoption of new processes, and delivering training to the team.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Admitted as a lawyer in Australia.
- Practising as a projects lawyer for 4-8 years in private practice or in-house.
- Strong understanding of energy transactions in Australia.
- Proven stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence outcomes.
- Collaborative, adaptable, and self-motivated.
- Strong problem-solving, commercial, and communication skills.
- Thrives in dynamic and evolving environments.
