Australia's defense strategy relies heavily on advanced combat systems to stay mission-ready. As a Senior Systems Engineer with our organization, you will be at the forefront of upgrading and modernizing the Hobart Class Combat System.

Based at Garden Island, you will join a collaborative Combat System Engineering team working on programs that directly impact Australia's defense strategy. Our team is committed to delivering innovative solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

The role involves partnering with the Royal Australian Navy to guide and deliver combat system upgrades. You will also lead and support engineering change activities that improve system performance and reliability. Additionally, you will translate complex requirements into practical, forward-looking design solutions.

Collaboration with global experts and Defence partners is essential in tackling high-impact technical challenges. You will play a key role in test, integration, and operational validation of combat system updates. Every change you engineer enhances Australia's maritime edge – ensuring our people at sea have the tools and confidence to succeed in mission-critical operations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Aerospace, or related engineering.
  • Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle (requirements, design, test, integration).
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills – able to connect technical detail with strategic outcomes.
  • Knowledge of modern systems engineering practices (MBSE, Agile).
  • Experience with naval, combat, or complex military systems is highly regarded.
  • An Australian NV-1 security clearance and ability to access/handle Export Controlled technology, data and information.
