The role
We are seeking high performing Engineers - Maritime Systems to join our dynamic D&NS team in Sydney.
In these roles, you will contribute to improving Defence operational capability through the provision of engineering services to our Defence clients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working within a project team to deliver maritime engineering services to improve the operational effectiveness of Defence maritime capabilities.
- Experience in Defence maritime systems.
- Understanding engineering requirements to deliver practical outcomes for our Defence clients.
- The ability to lead, manage and deliver Defence maritime projects.
- Provide sound advice and solutions to dynamic and complex engineering issues.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Experience with Defence writing standards and technical documentation requirements.
About you
You will possess knowledge and experience in the maintenance of Australian Navy ships and Navy engineering practices and preferably have the eligibility to hold engineering delegations.
You will have a commitment to working towards solving problems for our clients. Furthermore, you will thrive on challenges and be team-oriented with strong organisational and communication skills and the ability to apply proactive and critical thinking whilst developing your consulting career. Required capabilities:
- Previous project experience within the Defence environment, with an understanding of Defence maritime engineering requirements and processes.
- Possess relevant qualifications in engineering (electrical, mechanical, systems) with the ability to gain appropriate industry accreditation.
- Due to the nature of our client and projects, it is mandatory that you hold (or will be able to obtain) a current Australian Government security clearance (AGSVA) at Baseline level or higher and be eligible to access information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
