About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Academic Leader to join our team at The University of Notre Dame Australia. As an Academic Leader - Indigenous Health Sciences, you will play a key role in developing and delivering course materials and learning experiences within foundational Health Sciences courses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver high-quality course materials and learning experiences that meet the needs of our students.
  • Provide cultural guidance and leadership to inform the programs in Indigenous health curriculum and cultural safety.
  • Operationalize and govern the Indigenous student alternate entry and internal equity pathways.
  • Consult with students, including pastoral care and academic support.
  • Undertake scholarship/research/advocacy relevant to area of professional expertise and aligned with the directions of the program and University.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Head of School/Program Coordinators.
About You
  • You will have substantial professional experience and/or evidence of progress towards postgraduate qualification.
  • You will be open to either a Registered Allied Health professional or an applicant with an applied Health Science degree with professional experience in a related field.
  • You will have experience in education material/curriculum delivery and development, which could include undergraduate, postgraduate or professional level education.
  • You will demonstrate administrative and highly developed organizational skills.
  • You will demonstrate the ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • You will demonstrate high-level excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • To be eligible for this position, you must provide a statement and supporting documentation that addresses how you meet each of the following criteria for Aboriginality:
    • Be of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.
    • Identify as an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
    • Be accepted as such by the community in which you live or have lived.

Supporting documentation may include, but is not limited to, a letter of Aboriginality signed under the common seal from a recognized incorporated Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community organization such as Land Council or Elders group, Aboriginal Medical Service or a letter on letterhead from a Local Aboriginal Land Council demonstrating membership of the Council.
