Responsibilities

The Procurement Lead will be responsible for:

  • Generating and implementing sourcing opportunities through research, analysis, and negotiation.
  • Providing expert advice to internal clients on requirements gathering, strategic sourcing solutions, benchmarking, and gathering supplier performance information.
  • Conducting full procurement cycles from preparation of request for proposals/request for quotes documents to award.
  • Negotiating purchase terms and conditions and managing and tracking all procurement activities.
  • Managing contracts, including performance review meetings, reporting on contract compliance, and troubleshooting contract issues.
Decision Making

The Procurement Lead will make decisions in collaboration with stakeholders on key deliverables and milestones within the strategic procurement and contract operations processes.

Decisions will also be made on when to escalate to management when government policies and procurement best practices are not met and contrary to a fair, open, and competitive sourcing solution.

Additionally, decisions will be made on whether appropriate materials and services are acquired at fair and reasonable prices, are of acceptable quality, and constitute the best possible value.
