Job Title: Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic

\

The primary role of an Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic involves installing, maintaining, repairing, and servicing various air conditioning systems and refrigeration units. This includes working on commercial and residential installations, as well as industrial applications.

\Main Responsibilities:\
  • Interpreting technical drawings and job specifications to determine system requirements and installation pathways\
  • Preparing worksites by marking reference points, drilling access holes, securing mounting fixtures, and shaping piping\
  • Fitting, servicing, and restoring mechanical and electrical elements such as motors, compressors, evaporators, condensers, gauges, thermostats, and piping systems\
  • Assembling and connecting components, ensuring correct alignment and fit\
  • Charging systems with fluids or gases for leak tests and identifying sealing issues\
  • Operating equipment under test conditions, calibrating, and adjusting settings for optimal performance\
  • Evacuating trial gases or fluids using vacuum equipment and recharging the unit with the correct refrigerant\
  • Diagnosing faults by dismantling, inspecting, and testing refrigeration and cooling units; repairing or replacing malfunctioning parts where required\
  • Resetting and fine-tuning system regulators, sensors, and controls before reassembling units\
  • Documenting faults identified, corrective measures applied, and ongoing maintenance requirements for future reference
\Requirements:\
  • Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration\
  • At least two years of relevant experience\
  • White card\
  • Valid Driver's Licence
