
Building Strong Relationships as a Student Welfare Officer

The Student Welfare Officer plays a vital role in supporting the well-being of students by providing pastoral care services and fostering a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environment.
Working closely with the school community, the Student Welfare Officer implements wellbeing strategies, accompanies students on excursions, and coordinates volunteer activities that strengthen connections between students and their communities.
They also engage with families through workshops and meetings, contributing to a whole-school approach to student care.
This position is well-suited to someone with a strong understanding of social and emotional development in children, a passion for supporting young people, and the ability to respond with empathy and creativity to diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities- Implement wellbeing strategies to support student well-being
- Accompany students on excursions and coordinate volunteer activities
- Engage with families through workshops and meetings
- Completed Certificate IV Youth Work; or
- Completed Certificate IV Pastoral Care; or
- Diploma or Bachelor's in a relevant field
- 24 weeks of paid parental leave (maternity/adoption)
- Up to 14 weeks of paid parental leave (paternity/non-initial primary carer leave)
