Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Lighting Designer to join our team in Melbourne. As a Senior Lighting Designer, you will work on a diverse portfolio of high-impact projects across multiple sectors, delivering innovative specialist lighting design solutions that shape the built environment.

About the Role

The successful candidate will lead the specialist lighting design on a range of complex building projects, delivering coordinated, sustainable solutions in a multidisciplinary setting. You will work with clients, architects, builders and consultants to deliver innovative, efficient and code-compliant lighting systems from concept through to construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead medium-to-large scale lighting design projects.
  • Deliver coordinated, sustainable lighting solutions in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Work with clients, architects, builders and consultants to deliver innovative lighting systems.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in lighting design within the building services or architectural design sector.
  • Strong technical knowledge of lighting design principles, relevant Australian Standards, NCC/BCA, and authority requirements.
  • Ability to deliver projects independently while coordinating with other services such as electrical, mechanical, and interiors.
  • Passion for sustainability and experience in integrating energy-efficient and human-centric lighting strategies into designs.
  • Clear communication, practical problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification; member (or eligible for membership) of IESANZ or similar professional organisations.
