Senior Aquatic Ecologist Job

We are seeking a Senior Aquatic Ecologist to join our Perth Environment Team. This key role involves providing strategic and practical solutions to clients with environmental challenges.

About the Role:
  • Lead aquatic ecology projects, manage surveys, and undertake laboratory analysis
  • Collaborate with experts across aquatic ecology, marine ecology, terrestrial ecology, and environmental approvals disciplines

Our team is comprised of leading experts in their field, with demonstrated experience in undertaking comprehensive baseline aquatic ecology surveys, compliance monitoring, specialist analysis and identification, and technical reporting.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, implement, and lead aquatic ecology projects
  • Conduct fieldwork surveying waterbodies in remote areas
  • Laboratory analysis and data management
  • Prepare proposals to meet client expectations
  • Manage project staff and mentor junior staff
  • Undertake environmental impact assessments
  • Write technical reports to a high scientific standard

Key Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Freshwater Ecology / Biology, or Marine Science
  • Three to ten years' professional aquatic ecology experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of aquatic ecology concepts
