About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychologist, Provisional Psychologist, or Social Worker to join our team in the Gippsland region. As a key member of our Allied Health team, you will provide a range of counselling and therapeutic services to job seekers with various mental health conditions and complex psycho-social needs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct comprehensive psychological and vocational assessments for referred job seekers, utilizing evidence-based interventions and clinical practice.
  2. Provide counselling and therapeutic interventions to job seekers to address psychological barriers to obtaining employment.
  3. Offer consultation support to employment staff in the region, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  4. Liaise with internal and external service providers to develop and maintain relevant links and networks, enhancing services for EPlus job seekers.
  5. Effectively communicate with clients from diverse backgrounds and cultures, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
Requirements
  1. Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA; Provisional or General registration) or current full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  2. Previous experience working with people with various mental health conditions and complex psycho-social needs, including drugs and alcohol dependency.
  3. Experience in delivering counselling services to vulnerable individuals, with a focus on evidence-based interventions.
  4. Ability to assess individual needs and make appropriate referrals to enhance supports.
  5. Experience in managing people at risk, including suicide and violence risks.
  6. Knowledge of employment services and community services sector, with a commitment to collaboration and partnership.
  7. Proactive approach to developing and maintaining effective internal and external relationships, driving work goals and objectives.
  8. Understanding of the role employment plays in maintaining good mental and physical health.
  9. High level of passion and energy, motivating others to achieve shared goals.
  10. Current drivers license, with the ability and flexibility to travel to Employment Plus sites.
