Job Title

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our organization's data and AI governance initiatives. The role of the Data Governance Lead at Transurban is to establish and implement robust governance frameworks that ensure compliance, transparency, and trust in our data-driven decision making processes.

  • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in large-scale data management, with a deep understanding of data protection, AI practices, and regulatory requirements.
Data Management:
  • Develop and enforce policies for data quality, integrity, and security across all business units.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align data governance initiatives with business goals and objectives.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of data assets, including their provenance, usage, and risks associated with each.
AI Governance:
  • Maintain data and AI governance frameworks to ensure regulatory compliance, ensuring that AI systems are aligned with organizational values and ethics.
  • Support the development and implementation of ethical data and AI guidelines, fostering a culture of responsible innovation.
  • Assess and mitigate risks such as bias, privacy concerns, and cybersecurity threats associated with AI systems.
Key Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in a similar leadership role, preferably in a highly regulated industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, driving results through effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
