Environmental Field Technician Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Field Technician to join our team. As an Environmental Field Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our environmental management systems.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring compliance with environmental management system requirements, preparing and maintaining necessary reports and records, and monitoring wastewater quality. You will also be responsible for maintaining water testing instrumentation, monitoring pond and dam levels, and assisting farm operatives in coordination and implementation of irrigation management strategy.

  • Monitor and record environmental parameters such as pH, temperature, and turbidity.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed reports on environmental data.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor and record environmental conditions.
  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including farm operatives and other members of the operations team.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Environmental Monitoring: Monitor and record environmental parameters such as pH, temperature, and turbidity.
  2. Report Preparation: Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed reports on environmental data.
  3. Site Visits: Conduct regular site visits to monitor and record environmental conditions.
  4. Stakeholder Relationships: Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including farm operatives and other members of the operations team.
  5. Solid Waste Management: Monitor and report levels of solid waste in waste streams.
  6. Air/Odour Emissions: Monitor and report air/odour emissions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3+ years previous field experience collecting and testing water samples, writing reports or degree qualifications in environmental management, agriculture, or sustainability or related field.
  • Intermediate computer skills, with Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's licence, LR truck licence an advantage.
  • Forklift licence desirable.
  • Farming experience (desirable), including experience with tractors.
