Job Title: Chief Digital Architecture Officer

A federal government client is seeking a highly skilled Chief Digital Architecture Officer to lead the development and maturity of enterprise architecture practices across the organisation. This role will drive strategic ICT planning and enable digital transformation initiatives aligned with whole-of-government frameworks and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement an enterprise architecture framework aligned to the organisation's strategy, driving consistency and scalability in ICT practices.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise artefacts such as capability models, technical landscapes, and ICT roadmaps, ensuring seamless integration into project management processes.
  • Establish and promote architecture governance to drive consistent and scalable ICT practices, fostering collaboration among cross-functional business and technical stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic and technical advice on ICT capability uplift and solution design, guiding teams in applying architecture best practices across projects and programs.
  • Align architecture work with government digital policies and reporting requirements, including DTA standards, to ensure compliance and adherence.
  • Familiarity with DTA frameworks, Digital Service Standard, and Australian Government Architecture (AGA) is essential for this role.
  • Experience integrating architecture into project management and delivery processes is crucial for success in this position.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as an Enterprise Architect, preferably in complex government environments, is required for this role.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture methodologies such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, and Zachman is essential for success in this position.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategic goals into practical architecture deliverables is critical for this role.
  • Proven track record in leading enterprise-wide frameworks, roadmaps, and capability planning is necessary for this position.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across technical and executive audiences are required for this role.
  • Ability to coach teams and embed architecture thinking into delivery and governance processes is essential for success in this position.
  • Understanding of current government digital strategies, architecture standards, and ICT compliance obligations is necessary for this role.
