About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Carrier Contract Manager to join our team at Ampol. As a key member of our Carrier Operations Group, you will be responsible for leading the management of Bulk Carrier contracts and providing senior-level support to the National Carrier Operations Manager in the development of our national strategy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the development of national strategy and ensuring carrier contracts are managed effectively and efficiently
  • Leading commercial negotiations for Carrier contract improvement and achieving successful outcomes for all parties
  • Ensuring provision of effective fuels, supply chain, and logistics services are aligned to the strategy
  • Understanding customer requirements to make deliveries in a safe, efficient, cost-effective manner to meet customer requirements
  • Supporting the implementation of Ampol's national logistics and supply chain strategies
  • Managing safe fleet operations across all Supply Chain and ensuring Carriers meet statutory, regulatory requirements, and company standards
  • Completing site assessments
  • Working with Carriers to embed a continuous improvement and incident-free culture within their organizations
  • Continuous engagement with the National Scheduling Manager on issues that arise with the schedule
  • Working closely with the Freight Solutions team to identify and develop optimization strategies to improve Carrier service and cost performance

About You

We are looking for a highly experienced Contract Manager with a strong background in the transport industry. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop strong stakeholder management and engagement. You will also have a high level of commitment, work ethic, and a strong focus on continuous improvement.

Key Skills and Experience

We are seeking a candidate with:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the transport industry
  • Contract management experience
  • Experience in safe tanker fleet operation
  • High-level strategic skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Experience in emergency response situations
  • Experience in petroleum product supply chain
  • Proven knowledge of relevant laws and statutes applying to the transport of petroleum products
