Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Windows 11 Testing Specialist to support and execute structured testing activities for large-scale desktop and systems upgrades.

This role is instrumental in ensuring application compatibility, seamless device integration, and a smooth transition to Windows 11 across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for Windows 11 deployment.
  • Perform functional, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Conduct hardware and software compatibility testing across laptops, desktops, and peripherals.
  • Validate policies, security settings, and system behaviours post-upgrade.
  • Test application packaging and deployment using SCCM, Intune, or similar tools.
  • Support rollback testing and backup validation scenarios.
  • Log and manage defects, track resolution, and report risks to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and support teams to troubleshoot and resolve upgrade issues.
  • Maintain detailed test documentation including scripts, summary reports, and traceability matrices.
Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have strong OS-level testing experience, a good grasp of enterprise desktop environments, and the ability to prepare and execute test cases while working closely with technical teams, project managers, and end users.

Prior experience in public sector environments will be highly regarded.

  • 3+ years of experience in desktop operating system testing within enterprise environments; experience in public sector settings is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in test preparation, execution, and end-to-end test lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of Windows 10 and 11, upgrade paths, and group policy testing.
  • Experience with tools such as TestRail, Azure DevOps, JIRA, or HP ALM.
  • Knowledge of enterprise IT ecosystems including Active Directory, SCCM, Intune, application packaging.
  • Ability to script and automate basic test routines.
  • Strong attention to detail, stakeholder engagement, and documentation skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver within tight timeframes and in coordination with cross-functional teams.
