We are seeking a dedicated and experienced VE Teacher to join our team at RMIT University.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering course material, assessing students, and supervising students enrolled in selected courses in the School of Youth Work.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing teaching methods that meet the needs of diverse learners;
  • Assessing student performance and providing constructive feedback;
  • Supervising students and ensuring they meet course requirements;
  • Participating in the School's continuing reviews of course content and development;
  • Interacting with external organisations, industry groups, and RMIT staff to ensure effective collaboration.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills relevant to teaching and consultancy environments;
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in competency-based assessment;
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure current and contemporary vocational competence that meets and/or exceeds the education level being delivered and assessed;
  • Demonstrated experience in relevant industry and substantial discipline knowledge related to this position;
  • Demonstrated capacity to diagnose learning problems in students and propose effective solutions;
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively as a constructive and proactive member of a team;
  • Demonstrated skills in the use of relevant information and communication technologies.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background, including a professional teaching qualification defined as a qualification at Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 5 Diploma or above which includes supervised teaching practice and studies in teaching methodology or equivalent qualification accepted by the University.

A salary range of $65,000 - $90,000 per annum is on offer, depending on qualifications and experience.
