VE Teacher, Youth Work Professional

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join RMIT University as a VE Teacher, Youth Work. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering course material, assessing students, and supervising students enrolled in selected courses in the College of Vocational Education.
This is a full-time, fixed-term maternity leave contract until 31/12/2024. The salary will be Teacher Level 2.2 - 4.1, depending on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be based at the Melbourne CBD campus but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver course material, assess students, and supervise students enrolled in selected courses in the College of Vocational Education.
- Participate in the College's continuing reviews of course content and development, delivery, teaching methods (including online delivery methods), and methods of students' assessment.
- Interact with external organisations, industry groups, and RMIT teaching and administration staff.
- Ensure vocational competence meets and/or exceeds the education level being delivered and assessed.
Requirements
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills relevant to teaching and consultancy environments.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in competency-based assessment.
- Demonstrated ability in ensuring current and contemporary vocational competence which meets and/or exceeds the education level being delivered and assessed.
- Demonstrated experience in relevant industry, and substantial discipline knowledge as it relates to this position.
- Demonstrated capacity to diagnose learning problems in students, propose and implement effective solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively as a constructive and proactive member of a team.
- Demonstrated skills in the use of relevant information and communication technologies.
Mandatory Qualifications/Experience
- Teaching and Industry experience.
- Must hold the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
- To appoint a teacher at a classification of Teacher 3.1 or above, the appointee must hold a professional teaching qualification, defined as a qualification at Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 5 Diploma or above which includes supervised teaching practice and studies in teaching methodology or equivalent qualification accepted by the University.
Working with Children and National Police Check
Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.
