We are seeking a dedicated support worker to join our team at The Salvation Army's Geelong Withdrawal Unit.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of trauma-informed care and the impacts of addiction.

About the Role

As a Casual AOD Support Worker, you will work in partnership with nursing staff to deliver daily program activities and provide psycho-social support and guidance to ensure clients' self-determination and recovery goals.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Support clients through their recovery journey from alcohol and other drug (AOD) dependence
  • Work in partnership with nursing staff to deliver daily program activities
  • Provide psycho-social support and guidance to ensure clients' self-determination and recovery goals
  • Monitor client well-being and contribute meaningfully to handover and team communications
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and qualifications:

  • Certificate IV in AOD or Diploma in Community Welfare (including CHCAOD competencies)
  • Experience supporting individuals with AOD or mental health challenges
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and the impacts of addiction
  • Valid VIC Working with Children Check
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Victorian Driver's Licence
