About the Role:

Dowdens Group is seeking a skilled Workshop Estimator to join our Industrial Workshop Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial part in supporting the smooth operation of planning, execution of repairs, and maintenance of a variety of pumping and water treatment equipment from a diverse range of industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpretation and Analysis: Interpret drawings, part breakdowns, and identify pump and pumping equipment components to provide accurate estimates and quotes.
  • Estimation and Quoting: Prepare work scopes, cost estimates, and quoting repairs/replacement options for clients, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Communication and Liaison: Liaise with suppliers and internal departments regarding equipment and service ordering/scheduling, and coordinate external resources as required.
  • Client Communication: Ensure clients are kept well-informed of their pumping and/or water treatment equipment supply and/or repair status.

Requirements:

  • Mechanical Aptitude: Possess a mechanical aptitude and analytical skills to interpret technical information and provide accurate estimates.
  • Autonomy and Communication: Ability to work autonomously and unsupervised, with excellent communication skills to build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.

Desirable Experience:

  • Trade Qualification: Trade-qualified or background in Mechanical/Fitter, with knowledge of various pumps and pumping equipment, including valves, pipes, and pipe fittings.
