Job Title:

Student Engagement and Support Specialist

Job Summary:

This role offers a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver intensive case management, transition supports and education initiatives for students at risk of disengagement or already disengaged.

About the Role:

  • Provide behaviour and educational interventions to support student engagement and learning outcomes in an education context.
  • Establish and maintain effective partnerships with stakeholders, government and non-government organisations to support student needs.
  • Facilitate coordination of individual student plans and transition plans using an integrated approach.
  • Implement best practice case management strategies to improve learning and engagement outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement tailored support plans for students at risk of disengagement or already disengaged.
  2. Collaborate with teachers, counselors and other educators to identify and address student support needs.
  3. Provide professional development opportunities for educators to enhance their understanding of student support needs.

Desirable Skills and Knowledge:

  • Understanding of the impact of disability on individual functioning within an education context and evidence-based practices to support reasonable adjustments.
  • Experience working with First Nations communities, families and students, and students from culturally diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and educators.
