As a key member of our Education and Training team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality educational support and clinical teaching to our Birth Unit team, graduate midwives, and students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the MUM and Clinical Development Coordinator to support our commitment to high-level education and training.
  • Coordinate, provide clinical support, and facilitate undergraduate and postgraduate students of Midwifery programs.
  • Orientate and complete induction of new staff, including roles and responsibilities.
  • Take on a leadership role in providing hands-on educational support and clinical teaching to the Birth Unit team, graduate midwives, and students.
  • Assist with competency assessments, learning plans, and in-service programs.
  • Promote a high standard of evidence-based midwifery care to all patients, through dissemination of current best practice knowledge.
  • Ensure employee compliance to Mandatory Training requirements and completion of eLearning components.
  • Participate in policy and procedure development, implementation, and compliance.
Requirements
  • Registered Midwife AHPRA registration.
  • Minimum 8 years Midwifery experience (with min 5 years Birth Unit experience).
  • Certificate IV Workplace Assessment & Training (TAE) or working towards.
  • Experience teaching and supervising students and novice midwives.
  • Strong preceptorship and mentoring skills.
  • Demonstrated innovation in education program design and delivery using evidence-based practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated quality improvement activities and policy review/development skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
Desirable Criteria
  • Masters in Maternal Health/Education.
  • Academic teaching experience.
